CODESPA ASIA ASSISTS PHILIPPINE NGOs IN FORMULATION OF PROJECT PROPOSALS

Codespa held two seminars for development organizations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, in an effort to strengthen their knowhow and skills in logical framework formulation that is critical for supporting development project proposals. Participants were officers tasked in resource mobilization and program management.

The lecture workshop emphasized the techniques in analyzing a problem that will determine the setting of objectives. Another workshop was held in the formulation of indicators for the objectives set. Participants were also thoroughly oriented on the grant funding requirements of the Agencia Espanola Cooperacion Internacional (AECI).Mr. Javier Sota led the lecture workshop on Logical Framework, and Ms. Christina Todeschini,, the Asia Delegate, gave the lecture on AECI regulations. The two seminars were held respectively on Janaury 28 and February 3, 2005 on Makati City and Iloilo City.

The seminar was timely for CODESPA's closing of its year 2001-2005 program of assistance, to pave the way for a new program phase for the Philippines. It provided an opportunity to explore possible new projects and partners for the new phase, after setting the standard criteria to potential local partners.
